Tennis: Girls picks up the win, Boys fall at South Warren

The 2012 tennis season kicked off with a scrimmage on Thursday evening (March 1st), with the Butler County Bears visiting the South Warren Spartans. The girls and boys teams played 6 singles and 2 doubles.

The girls picked up a 5-3 win, with the experience of Sierra Fields, Chanda Hampton, Katona Dockery, and Emily Wallace showing, at the top 4 singles spots against a very respectable South Warren team. Hampton/Dockery also picked up a win at #1 doubles.

The boys would not be so lucky, dropping a 2-6 decision, though Conner Reed and Brennan Grubb would pick up two good wins at the #5 and #6 singles seeds. For Brennan, it was his tennis debut, winning his first varsity level match, in which he had ever played.
