Ronny Simon doubled him in two batters later to give BG a one-run edge. Winston-Salem poured it on in the fourth, scoring seven runs on six hits, including a grand slam, all coming with two outs to give the Dash a 7-1 lead.

BG got two back in the sixth inning, which also began with a leadoff double by Basabe. Kyle Manzardo doubled to follow him up, moving Basabe to third. Diego Infante moved the runners up with a ground out to third, scoring Basabe to cut the deficit to 7-2. Tanner Murray slapped a single to left to drive Manzardo home and bring the score to 7-3, but the Dash got one back on an RBI single in the seventh to bring their lead to 8-3.

BG kept chipping away, adding another run in the eighth inning off of Dash reliever Luis Amaya. The two-out rally began on Simon’s double down the left field line, after Basabe walked, Manzardo grounded a single into right, and Simon slid home ahead of Adam Hackenberg’s tag to cut the Dash’s lead to 8-4. The Dash fought back in the top of the eighth, adding two more in the top of the frame to bring their lead to 10-4.
