Teachers and staff members of the Butler County School District will begin the vaccination process for COVID-19 on Wednesday, January 13.  The first round of the two-shot Moderna vaccine will be administered at the BCHS Fieldhouse. 

According to Ryan Emmick, the district’s safety coordinator and point of contact for Covid, health officials with the Barren River District Health Department will lead the vaccination efforts locally.  

Approximatley 154 teachers and staff members signed up for the vaccine, which is about 44 percent of district employees.  Those who have been vaccinated will be asked to stay for 15 minutes to make sure they are feeling well, similar to a blood donation.

“Hopefully, this will help get us one step closer to normalcy that we all hope and desire to have,” said Emmick.
