A Summer Place to Be

Laney Bell Hampton sings for “Papa”, granddaddy Boyce Flener, during the Saturday concert on the square.

The weather could not have been better as the Crossmen Quartet sang to a delighted crowd on the courthouse square Saturday evening. Darren Doyle filled in for Darren Lawrence as the event, a part of the summer concert series, was held under the shade trees on the lawn.

The Crossmen

A highlight of the night was the calling out of names to old hymns by the audience as the group sang a chorus in a cappella style. Another was having Boyce Flener’s grandchild, Laney, take the stage, maybe for the first time. Visit www.crossmenquartet.com for future group schedule information.
