Student, bus driver involved in altercation on ride home

Butler County School officials have confirmed that an incident occurred Wednesday afternoon involving a student and a Butler County Schools bus driver.

Superintendent Scott Howard, who declined to name the driver or give the bus number, said the incident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Howard said that an altercation occurred between the student--a juvenile--and the driver on a Morgantown route. Howard said that Morgantown City Police were contacted and are handling the investigation. According to Howard neither the driver nor the student were injured, and no other students on the bus were involved.

Howard declined to elaborate on the incident saying only, “I’m proud of the way we handled it, and it’s been taken care of.”
