Storage Wars, Morgantown style, recently took place at A&P Self Storage in Ashley Square.  The reality show, Storage Wars, (on the A&E Channel) has created a great deal of interest in unit auctions. 

“I would say the television show, Storage Wars, has increased my crowds,” said Gary Ashley, owner of A& P Self Storage.  “We will have 50-60 show up for the auctions.”

 When storage units are abandoned, the contents are put up for auction.  Ashley gave the instructions to would be buyers. 

“I’ll open the door, you will get to look inside then the bidding will start,” said Ashley.  “You have five days from today to clear the unit you purchase and all sales are cash.”

Several attended the auction looking for hidden treasure.  The group moved from unit to unit speculating on what was inside.  According to Ashley, who owns units in Butler and Ohio counties, he has auctions regularly.
