Stolen Firearm found in Morgantown

Morgantown Police arrested a Butler County resident on Sept. 1 for receiving stolen property.
William Brown was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property (firearm) and is currently lodged in the Butler County Jail. The Morgantown Police Department responded to a call at 111 South Teddy Avenue Apartment B7 in regards to a complaint regarding a stolen firearm.
Chief of Police Giles Taylor explained, after speaking with the resident and searching the residence, a 22-caliber Mossberg rifle was found and was determined to have been stolen.
The Kentucky State Police assisted in the investigation.
