Stockman’s Association Forage Contest

Members of the Butler County Stockman’s Association can participate in the 2024 Forage Quality Contest.  

Members can enter a hay sample in any or all of the three division of the contest:  Grass Hay, Legume Hay or Grass Legume Mix, or Baleage.  Lance Lockhart will come to the farm and pull a representative sample of each lot of hay.  The samples will be sent to Frankfort for analysis in the KDA forage testing lab.  

Winners will be determined by RFV.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.  

Stockman’s members that would like to participate should contact the Extension Office or get in contact with Lance.  All samples for the contest will be collected in early October.  Membership in Butler County Stockman’s Association is $10 per year.
