SOFTBALL: Butler picks up two wins - Warren East & Franklin-Simpson

Butler County picked up their second softball win for the week with a 5-3 victory over Franklin-Simpson Lady Cats on Thursday. The Bears trailed 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning when Carley Jones doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Franklin-Simpson started things in the first inning, scoring one run when Stout doubled.

Avery Gleason was in the circle for Butler County. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Stout was on the rubber for Franklin-Simpson. She went four and a third innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out two.

Butler County totaled nine hits. Madison Clark (2), Addison Miller(2), and Tinslea Belcher (2) each. Carly Jones, Cheani Schroeder and Mia Thomas each added a hit.

Butler County defeated the Warren East Lady Raiders 12-4 on Monday. The Bears got things moving in the second inning, scoring two runs when Madison Clark singled.

Butler County scored five runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Parker Willoughby, a sac fly by Cheani Schroeder, an error on a ball put in play by Addison Miller, and a double by Tinslea Belcher.

Avery Gleason was the winning pitcher for the Bears. She lasted seven innings, allowing 12 hits and four runs while striking out three and walking one.

Tristen Lindsey took the loss for Warren East, allowing nine hits and seven runs over two and a half innings. The Lady Raiders tallied two home runs on the day. Lydia Jones went deep in the fifth inning. Rileigh Jones had a homer in the fifth inning.

Butler County totaled 21 hits. Karrington Hunt, Belcher, Carley Jones, Willoughby, Clark, Miller, and MacKenzie Coleman each collected multiple hits. Belcher and Hunt each collected four hits.
