PARIS - A pair of Butler County runners, Parker Smith and Emma Winchel, competed in the Bourbon County Park-hosted Class 2A State Cross Country Meet on Friday, Oct. 30.

Smith placed 114th in the Class 2A Boys' 5,000 Meter Run, finishing the event in 19:20.75.

In addition to Smith, runners from Shelby County, Thomas Nelson, Boyd County, Bell County, Corbin, Trigg County, North Oldham, Bardstown, Boyle County, Russell, Nelson County, Calloway County, Webster County, Scott, Highlands, Lexington Catholic, Russell County, Jeffersontown, Rowan County, Taylor County, LaRue County, Christian Academy (Louisville), Spencer County, Paducah Tilghman, Harlan County, Western Hills, Allen County-Scottsville, Bourbon County, John Hardin, Letcher County Central, Henry County, Mason County, Warren East, Ashland Blazer, Elizabethtown, Pike County Central, Union County, East Carter, Pendleton County, Greenup County, Lincoln County, McCreary Central, Glasgow, Mercer County, Hopkins County Central, Franklin County, Lawrence County, Powell County, Perry County Central and Magoffin County competed in the Class 2A Boys' 5,000 Meter Run.

Winchel placed 141st in the Class 2A Girls' 5,000 Meter Run, finishing the event in 24:36.13.

Along with Winchel, runners from Warren East, Highlands, Mason County, Scott, Lincoln County, Boyd County, Western Hills, Calloway County, Bourbon County, Lexington Catholic, Rowan County, North Oldham, Nelson County, Taylor County, Ashland Blazer, East Carter, Corbin, Perry County Central, Henry County, Harlan County, Mercer County, Powell County, Boyle County, LaRue County, Christian Academy (Louisville), Harrison County, Spencer County, Greenup County, Elizabethtown, Russell, Bardstown, Paducah Tilghman, Webster County, Glasgow, Bell County, Breckinridge County, Franklin County, Thomas Nelson, Franklin-Simpson, Allen County-Scottsville, Trigg County, Casey County, Pike County Central, Shelby County, Wayne County, Jeffersontown, Letcher County Central and Hopkins County Central competed in the Class 2A Girls' 5,000 Meter Run.
