Smith finishes 12th in region, advances to state meet

BARDSTOWN - Butler County freshman Parker Smith finished 12th in the Class 2A, Region 2 Meet on Saturday, Oct. 24.

With the 12th place finish, Smith qualified for the KHSAA Class 2A State Meet.

A breakdown of the Butler County boys' cross country team's individual results from the Class 2A, Region 2 Meet follows.

Class 2A, Region 2 Boys' 5,000 Meter Run: 12. Parker Smith, 18:10.41; 45. Bowen Kirby, 20:03.58; 48. Jacob Camp, 20:08.63; 66. Walker Smith, 21:36.62; 71. Case Hooten, 22:03.53; 74. Marvin Brown, 22:28.06; 79. Brian Cantu, 25:08.67.

The 2020 KHSAA State Cross Country Meet will be held at the Bourbon County Cross Country Course at 1054 Millersburg Road in Paris on October 30-31. Class 2A is scheduled to compete on Friday, Oct. 30.
