September 5th Field Day Will Cover Beef Production

Beef Cattle are in important part of Butler County's agriculture economy

The Butler County Extension Service/Butler County Farm Bureau Field Day will be Thursday, September 5th at the Banock Masonic Lodge at 3:30 p.m.  The Daugherty Family will be hosing this year’s event.

Beef Cattle Production will be the emphasis of this year's program.  Banock Farms has a very efficient working facility that they constructed.  They will be running some cattle through the system so attendees can see benefits of a proper working facility.  Kevin Laurent, from University of Kentucky, will be discussing "Winter Feeding Programs for Beef Cattle."  Kevin is an Extension Service Beef Associate.  He will be talking about ways to get your beef herd through the winter in a profitable manner.  Kevin has tremendous experience in the beef industry.  There will also be equipment on hand that will interest beef producers and the Fuel Storage demonstration will apply to many as well.

If you are participating in the County Conservation District's CAIP program the field day will count as your educational session for the year.

There is no charge to attend the field day.  Mark your calendars now.
