September 20th is POW MIA Day

   POW/MIA Remembrance

Ceremony Saves a Place for the Missing Man

• The single red rose in a vase is there as a reminder of the lives of each of the missing and their loved ones who keep the faith, still

waiting for answers.

• The red ribbon tied around the vase shows our continued determination to account for

the missing.

• A lemon slice at each bread plate is to remind us of the bitter fate of those captured

and missing in a foreign land.

• A pinch of salt recalls the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek

answers.

• The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, which was founded as one nation

under God.

• An inverted glass symbolizes their inability

to share in the day's toast.

• The chairs at each place stand empty to

express their absence.
