Senior Citizen Center opens in Morgantown

The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at the Butler County Senior Center on Friday, July 15. Manager Wanda Nevins welcomed everyone to the 104 North Warren Street location (basement of the Butler County Health Department).

Community Action of Southern Kentucky and BRADD, operate 13 Senior Centers in the 10-county BRADD area.  Kathy Fugate is the director.

The Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m, with lunch served daily.

Seniors, anyone 60 or older, are encouraged to come and join the many activities provided. Activities include bingo, crafts, cards, games, exercise programs, line dancing, and guest speakers.

"We hope to be able to offer computer classes for seniors as well," said Butler County Judge/Executive Tim Flener.
