SEEKING INFORMATION: Army Sergeant, murder victims and a 2-year-old girl

A Morgantown resident recently noticed a flag at the wooded line for a while and went up to look.  It was the grave of a sergeant of the U.S. Army who served in Korea.  He is buried at the edge of the wood line at Hillview Memorial Garden. His name is Edward J. Kontowski who was born Jan 25, 1918 and died March 16, 1982.

There was also another grave right beside Sgt. Kontowski - that of a Barbara Crouse, a murder victim.  It was badly covered in leaves. It shows that she was born in 1940 and died in 1966.

Here is an excerpt from a 1968 Daily News article about the death of Barbara Crouse:

MORGANTOWN, Ky. (AP) Ten persons were subpoenaed yesterday for a grand jury investigation into the death of Barbara Crouse, who was killed with her husband in April. The Butler County grand jury probe begins Friday but there was no indication whether the panel also would look into the fatal shooting of Robert Crouse, 32, Bowling Green. Crouse's body was recovered from a sink hole in Warren County on May 20. Two bloodstained sheets near the body led police to believe that Crouse was killed elsewhere then brought into the area. The body of Mrs. Crouse, 25, was found in a ditch in the Richeheu section of Butler County. She had been shot several times but the gunman did not harm her 2-year-old daughter, sleeping nearby in the family's station wagon. State Police Detective G. C. McMillen, who has been investigating the slayings, said he supplied the names of some of those subpoenaed. The others came from the sheriff's office.

Are there any records on the Army veteran and has any family members ever been looking for his burial site?

The 2-year-old girl’s name was a Dottie and she was handed over to Child Welfare. Why wasn't the husband and wife buried together?  Where is she now?

Why are these two sites just to the edge of the woods in a way that seems like they were placed there and just forgotten?

If anyone has information about either of these individuals and any additional history, please comment below or send to [email protected].
