A Section Waverly School Road Set for Long-Term Closure for Bridge Rehab Project

UPDATE: The Waverly School Road Bridge Project has been delayed a week. The closure is expected to take place on April 8.

The bridge over Little Bull Creek will close next week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (March 28, 2019) –  Waverly School Road in Butler County is expected to be closed at the bridge over Little Bull Creek beginning Monday, April 1. The closure is necessary to rehab the bridge to improve its condition and is expected to reopen in late May. This bridge project is part of the Bridging Kentucky Program.

Residents in the area will still have access to their homes, but barricades will be in place at certain points to let motorists know the road is closed to through traffic. The bridge will be closed and not passable.

Cambry Contracting was awarded the contract on March 4 in the amount of $356,412.

The Bridging Kentucky Program is a transformational commitment to improve safety and soundness across the Commonwealth. KYTC will rehabilitate, repair, or replace more than 1,000 critical structures in all 120 Kentucky counties over the next six years. The program will reopen closed bridges, remove weight restrictions that prevent use by school buses, emergency vehicles and businesses, and improve access and mobility for all Kentuckians.
