SECOND SATURDAY CLASS “CREATING CHARGER PLATES FOR YOUR HOME DÉCOR”

Tracy M. Cowles, County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences

Charger plates today are more useful than ever! No longer regulated to strictly table duty, the charger is now useful for a myriad of other decorating ideas. Hang highly decorative, textured, hand painted or embossed charger plates for a sophisticated and elegant looking wall decor. Cluster several together to create a unique, one-of-kind piece of wall art or hang one alone with wall sconces or metal pieces on either side. Place candles, figurines, knick knacks, or greenery on the sconces or entwine silk greenery on the metal piece and voila, you have a customized piece that reflects your unique personality.

Want to learn more and decorate a charger plate for your home? Join Tracy Cowles for the Second Saturday craft class on Saturday, August 10, a.m., at the Butler County Extension Office.  There is no charge for the class and you will be supplied the materials to create your own unique charger but we do ask you call the Extension Office, 526-3767, to reserve a spot.

For more information, contact the Butler County Extension Office at 112 East G L Smith Street, Morgantown or call 526-3767. Educational programs of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service serve all people regardless of race, color, age, sex, religion, disability, or national origin.
