School District takes steps to Lease to Purchase MCC

On Tuesday, December 8th the Butler County Board of education met in a regular session meeting at 6:30 PM in the Butler County High School Auditorium. The following board members were present: Amy Hood, Chair--Third District, Richie Ellis --First District,  Deborah Hammers--Second District, Delbert Johnson--Fourth District, Ryan Daugherty-Fifth District, and Superintendent- Robert Tuck.

The Butler County Board of Education took its first steps in what will be a multi-year Lease to Purchase of Morgantown Community Church.  The board approved the Lease to Purchase so the district can use the facility to house The Early Childhood Development Center.  This will free up classroom space at Morgantown Elementary School.

Under the Superintendent’s report, Superintendent Robert Tuck gave an overview and next steps toward the district’s Comprehensive District Improvement Plan.  That committee met in November to discuss district goals and next steps. Mr. Tuck also informed the board that Toys for Tots would take place at the Educational Complex building on December 9th.  Mr. Tuck along with district and school administrators volunteered to help with this event.

Under the Communication report, Assistant Superintendent Josh Belcher presented to the board the current Comprehensive District Improvement Plan and adjustments to goals based on instructional data, needs assessments, and stakeholder input.

Under Student Instructional Services, Principal Stoye Young of Butler County High School and Principal Tim Freeman of Butler County Middle School presented to the board the results of the Fall 2020 Map data.  The Map test gives a projection of where students are academically and for the middle school gives the district a projection of how students will perform on the spring K-Prep Accountability Assessment. Both principals presented student data and the next steps for each school.
