Ruby Pendley celebrates 103 birthday

Ruby Pendley celebrated her 103rd birthday on August 29. She was born August 29, 1921, to Mervin and Myrtle Drake Beliles.

Ruby married Alton Pendley (deceased in 2006) on February 17, 1940. They were married by Oscar Carrol, with her brother Jay as a witness.

"We walked home in the rain after we were married, added Ruby.

This union produced four children: Wilbur (Lucy) Pendley (both deceased) Bourbon Pendley (Sue- deceased) Linda Johnson (James-deceased) Alice Gill (Harold- deceased)

Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren have followed:

Grandchildren: Gorman Pendley, Jeff Pendley, Byron Pendley, Roger Gill, Lisa Gill, Tammy Cardwell, and Teresa Wells(deceased)

Great grandchildren: Johnathan Pendley, Jacqulyn Pendley, Jessica Pendley, Destiney O'Driscoll, Dalton Hale, Hannah Gill, Rachel Gill, Nicholas Johnson, Kenneth Cardwell, Eden Pendley, Noah Pendley, Lilly Pendley

Great Great Grands: Hadlee and Barrett O'Driscoll, Rae Lynn, Korbin, and Athena Cardwell

Ruby was a housewife who worked for Kane Industries for 26 years. She lived and worked on the farm. She said she raised a garden and canned food.
