Rochester Festival 2016

The Rochester Festival was held Saturday at the Rochester Park. Beauty pageants, an art show, a car show, different craft vendors, hayrides, music, games, and food were the order of the day(and night). The heat was good for bottled water sales too as they sold out by night.

The first-ever art show, the Butler County Pride Visual Art Project, was a success. Listed below are the winners:

High School:
1st Place: Bailey Womack, 9th Grade
2nd Place: Mattie Wells, 9th Grade

Middle School:
1st Place: Taylor Miller, 7th Grade

3rd - 5th Grades:
1st Place: Don Elmore, 3rd Grade
2nd Place: Ryleigh White, 4th Grade
Honorable Mention: Toxey Renfrow, 4th Grade

K - 2nd Grades:
1st Place: Gracie Wright, 1st Grade
2nd Place: Jennelle Kimmel,2nd Grade

Dance Academy performed throughout the day.

Drakesboro’s Roy Kyle was the afternoon entertainment. The keyboard/vocalist gave the crowd some good energy in the sweltering heat. Muhlenberg County band Broken Tradition was the evening entertainment. They were quite good, covering everything from Dwight Yoakam to Georgia Satellites.
Good food, good music and catching up with good friends are what small town festivals such as the Rochester Festival are all about.

Car/Truck Show Winners were:

Truck winner is Marvin Poole for his '55 Chevy.

Larry Stewart took Best Car honors.
