Robbins, Neighbors, and Jenkins Take Top Honors at Glasgow

The Butler County Cross-Country team traveled to Glasgow on Saturday October 15th to compete in the Glasgow Christian Academy Warrior Run. 

Butler County elementary girls with their Top Ten medals

Reece Robbins, MES 5th grader, took top honors in the elementary girls 2k by finishing in first place with a time of 9:15. Hannah Logan, BCMS 6th grader, finished 3rd overall and Samantha Henderson, MES 4th grader, finished the race 5th overall. The elementary girls team received the first place trophy.

Butler County elementary boys who finished in the Top Ten
For the elementary boys race, Walter Givens, MES 5th grader, was the first Butler County finisher coming in 3rd overall with a 2k time of 9:11. Other Top Ten finishers for Butler County were: Easton Phelps, 4th overall; Matthew Gill; 6th overall; Tyler Marksberry, 7th overall; Patton Allen, 8th overall; Garrison Odle, 9th overall; Kain Neighbors, 10th overall. The boys elementary team also received the first place trophy for their efforts.
For the boys middle school race, Cameron Joiner, BCMS 7th grader, led the way for Butler County with a 7th place finish.
The Varsity girls pictured above race saw complete domination from the Butler County team. The first 5 spots belonged to Olivia Neighbors, 1st overall with a time of 22:41; Maranda Pierson, 2nd overall with a time of 23:07; Chanda Hampton, 3rd overall with a time of 23:49; Delaney Embry (MES 5th grader), 4th overall; Hannah Perry, 5th overall. Other Butler County runners finishing in the top ten were Emma Robbins (7th), Dalys Bishop (8th), and Whitney Jenkins (9th).

The Varsity boys team also represented Butler County with a great performance at the meet. The top 5 positions belonged to Butler County runners which included: Ethan Jenkins who set the course record with a 5k time of 19:13, Cameron Price, Dylan Havens, Matthew Embry, and Barry Washer. Also making the top ten for Butler County was Drew Henderson who finished 7th overall and Garrison Odle (MES 5th grader) who finished 10th overall.

The Middle School and Elementary teams will be competing in the West Kentucky Championship Meet in Greenville on Thursday. Good luck to these athletes!
