Rite Aid will become Walgreens

A long-time Morgantown business will be getting a new look and new name as Rite Aid will transition to Walgreens.  Rite Aid customers received a letter last week informing them that Walgreen is taking over the local store following a purchase of some of the Rite Aid stores. The store transition is expected to take up to three years.  The sign at the pharmacy has already changed, however, the staff will remain the same. For now, the products and services will remain the same.  Eventually, the store will be converted to the full Walgreen experience including signs, products, services and customer programs.

Customers will be able to continue to use Wellness Plus and Plenti card until the conversion to the new system is complete.  After that, customers can enroll in Walgreens Balance Rewards program.

Walgreens Pharmacy accepts most insurance plans, but co-pays could change.  Customers will need to check with the pharmacist for more information. Just stop in or call the pharmacy.  Online and mobile prescription refills will be unavailable during the transition.  Once the pharmacy is converted to the Walgreens' system, the online and mobile service will be available.
