Ribbon-Cutting At Reed's Ferry

Reed's Ferry is officially open as of today.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at the site.  Those in attendance enjoyed a river cruise, with Blue, ferry operator, at the wheel.  Butler County Judge Executive David Fields welcomed everyone.

"We are proud of this project and hope we get 50 years out of this ferry," said Fields.

Mark Mudd, Denetra Henderson, Lynn Soporowski, and Greg Meredith.

Greg Meredith, KTC Chief District Engineer of District 3, introduced other members of the Kentucky Transportation Department that worked on the Reed's Ferry project.  According to Meredith, Mark Mudd and Denetra Henderson of Butler County were vital to the project, as well as Lynn Soporowski,  Transportation Engineer Branch Manager.

After the ribbon cutting and a trip to the other bank, Reed's Ferry had customers waiting on each side of the Green River.  The ferry connects Kentucky Highway 269. According to Blue, the ferry averages about twenty trips a day across the river.
