Renfrow sentenced to 30 years

Jeffrey Renfrow was sentenced today to 30 years in prison on charges stemming from his 2010 arrest for three counts of sexual abuse, first degree and three counts of sodomy, second degree. Renfrow accepted a plea deal from the office of the Commonwealth Attorney (Tim Coleman)  that will require him to serve 30 years in prison and a 5-year conditional discharge after release.  Renfrow will be required to register as a sex offender after his release.  He will be eligible for parole after 20% of his sentence is served. Following sentencing, Renfrow was remanded into custody where he is awaiting transport to another facility.

SIX YEARS,SIX YEARS & this guys going to be back in society. Why let someone like this plea bargain for a day less if he is guilty! Shouldn't ever be free again. Come on Tim!!!
You can bet the family will be at every parole hearing for the rest of his life.
I don't usually respond to stories such as these because I try to keep my opinion to myself due to personal experiences. But I don't see how justice was really served here. Sure, he's going to do sometime, but what if in 9 yrs he gets parole? I see a big problem with that. Something has GOT to be done to stop these sick people. I pray this family does show up for EVERY parole hearing for the duration of this and I pray they succeed in keeping him locked up. The effect this whole ordeal has had on this child cannot be fixed in 9 yrs!
There are a few details the story left out. First, though by law, Jeff is eligible for parole after serving 20% (6 years) of his sentence, that doesn't mean the parole board will grant him parole at that time. The chances of them granting parole at that time are not bloody likely. Typically, they will grant parole only after he has served at least 50% of his sentence. By law, he cannot get any good time credits or get parole until he completes sex offender treatment, which is not easy to do. Only two prisons offer that treatment. They are Roederer Correctional Center, in La Grange, and Little Sandy Correctional Center, in Sandy Hook, in the Eastern KY Appalachian Mountains. Right now, Jeff is in the Muhlenberg County jail, due probably to overcrowding. He should be transferred to the state prison reception center, which is at Roederer, within 2-3 weeks. The warden there is known to hate the inmates. Also, it is very well known that all prisoners refuse to tolerate child molesters. This ironically includes other child molesters. Keep in mind this was a plea deal. If Tim Coleman offered a plea deal that included only life without parole, why would the defense take it? He might as well take his chances with the jury, and there is no guarantee with them. Tim had to make the offer worth consideration by the defense yet stiff enough to make the punishment not look like a joke. At this point, the community should come together and take the time to heal from Jeff's horrific crimes! When the parole board gets ready to consider Jeff's case in six years, the community should write in to express its feelings. Certainly, the family will be ready and waiting. Maybe the board will at that time issue a serve out order, which means he must serve out his entire sentence with no possibility of further parole hearings.
this is pathetic he should have life in prision!!
Matt 18:6 , But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. The court system may fail to hand down just punishment, but there is a higher power!
