Red Reigns At 2013 Tractor Show

It was Will Rogers who said, “You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.”  According to feedback received by officials of the Butler County Antique Engine and Tractor Club, this year’s tractor show, which ended Saturday at the Charles BlackCity Park, should have many returning participants next year. This, the 7th annual show, played host to the Ky Chapter #24 International Harvester Red Power Reunion.

Events this year included a tractor and engine show, tractor parade, demonstrations, tractor games, kid's pedal pull, viewer's choice awards, pedal tractor raffle and a gun raffle.  The tractor parade through town, a perennial favorite, circled the square to the delight of a large crowd gathered for Harvest on the Square.

According to event organizers, Roger Tanner and Troy Dunn, there were approximately 107 tractors, 36 lawn and garden machines, 103 engines, 8 antique vehicles and a good number of vendors who took part. Exhibitors came from six states; Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.

“We want to thank city and county officials, maintenance crews, the tourism commission and all who helped in any way,” said Dunn.
