Rebecca's On Main Open for Business

Rebecca’s on Main, a new eatery opened its doors on Friday, August 19th on Main Street in the historic Morgantown Bank & Trust located beside Five Seasons Florist.

Owner Rebecca Richardson began renovations in April and after months of tearing down partitions and several layers of old flooring, Rebecca discovered the beauty and history of the place she was renting.

In 1885 the Morgantown Bank & Trust moved into the two story brick building. The bank remained at this location for seventy-six years until a new modern building was constructed across the street in 1961.Once the historical significance of the building was realized and several of the original elements were still intact, it became important for her to incorporate its originality and history into the design of the shop’s layout.

When you enter the building, on the left you will see exposed brick that is original dating back to 1885 when the bank first opened. Not only are the walls original, but so is a vast majority of the flooring. The seating area in which customers enjoy their food was at one time the lobby area in the bank.

Rebecca’s on Main specializes in deli style sandwiches and sides, salads, bagels, and various desserts. Currently, this is the only restaurant of its kind in our area, and all are encouraged to visit.
