Raymer recognized as Legislator of the Year by KY Nurses Association
FRANKFORT – Representative Rebecca Raymer (R-Morgantown) was recently recognized as Legislator of the Year by the Kentucky Nurses Association. Before serving as a representative, Raymer had an 18-year career as a nurse.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Raymer. “Nursing is much more than a profession. It becomes an intricate part of who you are. It shapes how you see people, how you advocate, how you problem-solve, and how you show up for others in some of their hardest moments.”
For over 100 years, KNA has been supporting Kentucky nurses and advocating for quality patient care as the state’s only full-service professional organization for nurses. KNA functions as a voice for nurses across the Commonwealth and works for the promotion of the profession.
“Being a nurse teaches you compassion, resilience, and the importance of serving others. The perspective I gained as a nurse has greatly influenced the way I approach public service and the policies I fight for,” said Raymer. “To be recognized by fellow nurses, a profession I deeply respect and one that will always be close to my heart, makes this honor especially humbling. I am truly grateful, and I remain committed to advocating for healthcare providers, patients, and stronger healthcare across Kentucky.”
