The annual parade day radio auction to support the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County was yet another success. The event was hosted by Morgantown Bank and Trust through the use of their facility and the airways of Beech Tree 1570 WLBQ.

“We had over 150 items for the auction,” said Phyllis Ray, event organizer.  We want to thank everyone that donated items.”

According to Debra Hall, director of the Boys& Girls Club the event raised a little over $7,500.  “This was my first auction and I am very pleased.  Included in that total is $1500 from the Modern Woodmen.

Originated by the Optimists Club to fund their projects, according to member Eugene Butters, the auction continues today as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County. It is still a tradition on Christmas parade day in Morgantown.

The radio announcers were surrounded by many donations from businesses, groups and individuals in support of the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County
