Pursuit spanning over two counties ends in arrest

Morgantown Police Chief Giles Taylor was involved in a high-speed pursuit which ended in Ohio County near Beaver Dam.  Taylor attempted to stop a vehicle occupied by persons believed to have been involved in an altercation, which occurred at Hood's Market.
Before contact could be made, the vehicle fled north on U.S. 231.  It was determined the vehicle was stolen.  The pursuit continued at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.  In the vicinity of Tri-City Drive-In, located just outside the city limits of Beaver Dam, multiple police vehicles created a roadblock, and Kentucky State Police deployed spike strips disabling the fleeing car, preventing it from entering the dense city population.
The occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and lodged in the Ohio County Jail.
Agencies involved: Morgantown Police Department, Ohio County Sheriff's Department, Beaver Dam Police Department, Hartford Police Department, Kentucky State Police and Ohio County EMS.
