Proclamation Declaring November, National American Indian Heritage Month

Butler County Judge David Fields signed a proclamation for the Butler County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution declaring the month of November 2013, National American Indian Heritage Month in Butler County, Kentucky.  The proclamation reads:
WHEREAS, the history and culture of our great nation have been significantly influenced by American Indians and Indigenous peoples; and
WHEREAS, the contributions of American Indians have enhanced the freedom, prosperity, and greatness of American today, and
WHEREAS, their customs and traditions are respected and celebrated as part of a rich legacy throughout the United States; and
WHERWAS, the citizens of Butler, Kentucky are encouraged to learn about the history and heritage of the Native peoples of this great land; and
WHEREAS, the Butler, Kentucky wishes to Honor our Native Americans Indians for the contributions of their culture to our citizens;
NOW THEREFORE, I, David Fields, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Judge Executive of the Butler, Kentucky and urge all our citizens to commemorate this month with appropriate programs and activities, and to celebrate the twenty-ninth of November 2013, as Native American Heritage Day.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I herunto set my hand this first day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-eighth.
