Price, Rice selected to All-3rd Region Tournament Team

OWENSBORO — Butler County sophomores Ty Price and Lawson Rice were selected to the All-3rd Region Boys' Basketball Tournament Team.

Price, a guard, scored 72 points for the Bears in a pair of region tournament games. Among the top boys' high school basketball players in the state, regardless of class, Price netted 41 points in Butler County's loss to Owensboro during the semifinals of the 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Tournament. Price was 13-of-25 from three-point range during the 3rd Regioon Boys' Basketball Tournament, which was held at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Rice, a forward, scored 30 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in Butler County's two region tournament games. Nearly recording a double-double, Rice netted 16 points and cleared out nine rebounds in Butler County's win over Hancock County during the opening round of the 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Tournament.

Price and Rice form one of the top boys' high school basketball duos in the 3rd Region. Each Butler County student-athlete will carry momentum over into the 2023-24 boys' high school basketball season.
