Price leads Bears to win over Mustangs

MORGANTOWN — Senior guard Ty Price poured in a game-high 47 points as Butler County beat visiting Muhlenberg County 91-66 in a non-district game on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Butler County gradually pulled away to win convincingly. 

The Bears edged the Mustangs 24-20 in a high-scoring first quarter.

Butler County led 42-38 at halftime and managed to extend its lead after the intermission period.

The Bears led 67-46 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Price connected on nine three-point field goals for the Bears. 

Accompanying Price in double figures for Butler County, Briar Griffin scored 13 points, Justin Castlen netted 12 points and Trever Deweese posted 10 points.

Contributing to the Bears' win, Curtis Murphy added five points and Case Hooten tossed in four points. 

 

Butler County is scheduled to visit Whitesville Trinity for a 12th District game at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24.
