Price leads Bears past Heritage Christian, 74-52

Butler County sophomore PG Ty Price

HOPKINSVILLE — Sophomore guard Ty Price scored a game-high 34 points to lead Butler County past host Heritage Christian 74-52 in a boys' high school basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 5.

Butler County improved to 10-5 after notching the win.

The Bears led at the conclusion of each quarter in the mid-season matchup. 

Butler County outscored Heritage Christian 16-13 in the opening quarter, then stretched its lead before halftime.

The Bears led 32-24 when intermission arrived.

Extending its lead out to a double-digit advantage following the break, Butler County led 48-32 at the conclusion of the third quarter. 

Butler County featured four scorers in double figures. Accompanying Price in double figures for the Bears, Trever Deweese scored 11 points while Justin Castlen and Lawson Rice netted 10 points apiece.

The additional scorers for Butler County were Kolton Hudson (five points), Luke Laughing (three points) and Carson Miller (one point). 

Butler County is scheduled to visit Greenwood for its next game on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Tip-off for the Butler County-Greenwood boys' basketball game is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Bowling Green.
