Price commits to UT Martin
MORGANTOWN — Butler County senior guard Ty Price announced his commitment to UT Martin during today's press conference held in the Butler County Fieldhouse.
Price thanked God, his family, his community, and his coaches for everything they had done for him.
Price is the reigning 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Player of the Year. The Butler County senior guard has been heavily recruited by numerous men's college basketball programs.
A candidate for Kentucky Mr. Basketball, Price is among the state's top boys' high school basketball players. Price has excelled throughout his career, averaging 29.0 points. 5.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game for Butler County as a junior in the 2023-24 boys' high school basketball season. He is set to lead Butler County in the upcoming prep hoops campaign.
Price held additional NCAA Division 1 offers from Sacred Heart, Southern Indiana, Eastern Kentucky, Detroit Mercy, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Jacksonville State, and Southeast Missouri.
Price said his decision was based on several factors, including being close to home, the UT coaching staff, and their style of play.
Price and his Butler County teammates are preparing to compete in the 2024-25 boys' high school basketball season. The Bears are the defending 3rd Region boys' basketball champions.
