PREVIEW: Unbeaten Bears to visit Grayson County
MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to visit Grayson County for its fourth game in the 2025 high school football season.
The Bears and Cougars are longtime rivals. Butler County and Grayson County met during the 2024 high school football season. Grayson County defeated Butler County 35-29 on Sept. 13, 2024.
The Cougars have registered two straight wins over the Bears. Since 1998, Grayson County and Butler County have met 22 times. The Cougars have won 13 of the last 22 games played between the two high school football teams.
Butler County is 3-0. Off to a strong start in the 2025 high school football season, Butler County has reeled off three straight wins over Breckinridge County, Ohio County and Todd County Central. Butler County has outscored its first three opponents in the 2025 high school football season 122-49.
The Bears compete in Class 3A, District 2. Head coach Josh Robins guides the Bears.
Grayson County is 1-2. The Cougars have suffered back-to-back losses. Grayson County defeated Edmonson County in its season opener but has since lost to both Anderson County and McLean County. Opponents have outscored Grayson County 72-53 over the first three weeks of the 2025 high school football season.
The Cougars compete in Class 5A, District 2. Head coach Bryan Jones guides the Cougars.
Butler County has additional regular season games remaining versus LaRue County, Edmonson County, Glasgow, Hart County, Adair County and Russellville.
Grayson County has additional regular season games remaining versus Greenwood, Barren County, Ohio County, Warren Central, Bowling Green and Hart County.
Kickoff for the Butler County-Grayson County game is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be live on WLBQ 101.5 FM.
