Preview Bears Football 2022

The Butler Co. High School Bears 2022 Football program has worked in the off-season since January; the behind-the-scenes work never ends. Countless hours of weight-room workouts are now seven months complete. A stronger athlete is a better athlete; to put a young man on the football field at the high school level without a foundational weight program is all but obsolete.

The BCHS Bears football program has stepped into the 21st century. Technology has improved the off-season Wellness weightlifting class. The state-of-the-art BCHS Fieldhouse, built and opened in October 2010, has provided an indoor turf room, workout area for football, and virtually all BCHS athletic programs. Weather-controlled indoor facility BCHS athletes should never take for granted and use for years to come.

The BCHS Bears Football 2022 is led by Head Coach Brandon Embry and assistant coaches CW Decker, Elijah Flener, Zac Johnson, Josh Amos, Chaz Pritchard, and Cole Tynes.

BCHS 2022 Football Roster includes the following:

Senior Class- Dalton Freeman, Colton Dunnells, Ty Griffin, Keagen Grubb, Drew Hatcher, Brody Hunt, Luke Laughing, Carson Miller, Layton Phelps, Devon Poston.

Junior Class- Jay Peralta, Everson Padilla, Blake Tomes, Gage Beasley, Kyle Chambers, Logan Hargrove, Dillon Hudnall.

Sophomore Class- Will Bryant, Heath Chaney, Tucker DeJarnette, Reece Filback, Avery Gibbs, Marcos Mendoza, Kellon Meredith, Brock Pfingston, Garrett Phelps, Lonnie Phelps.

Freshman Class- Jett Johnson, Chris Martin, Clay Steff, Zander Stokes, Cayden Taylor, Hayden Whitaker, Christian White, Mason Wright, Will Amos, Lathan Clark, Nicholas Francisco.

The Gridiron Bears 2022, this week, continues the daily workouts and will travel to Muhlenberg Co. High School for their second scrimmage Friday, August 12th. Scrimmage begins at 6 pm. NOTE* this scrimmage will be a game-like situation, down and distance, and kicking game with No returns of kicks. The clock will run, but a reminder a running score total is not allowed in scrimmages. This scrimmage will conclude the preseason, as the ever-approaching opening night of the regular season will be Thursday, August 18th at BCHS, taking on the Class A State Runner Up Russellville Panthers.
