'For a Portrait' Stops in Morgantown

Nate Morguelan, a casual photographer from Louisville Kentucky, is a traveling around the state on his moped.  He has no money. Instead of cash, his survival depends on his charm, the generosity of strangers, and his ability to take a nice photo.

For a meal, gas or a place to sleep, Nate will trade you a portrait.  He even has a small photo printer he travels with.

After spending a night in Owensboro he stopped today for a few quick repairs and a bite to eat in Morgantown.

"I spent last night in the BBQ Capitol of Kentucky, it only seemed proper to stop at the Catfish Capitol too," He said.

Typically Nate likes to approach complete strangers with his atypical proposition, but today was an exception. Due to a few safety issues that needed a quick remedy Nate broke his trend of only approaching the unknown and phoned a friend, Morgantown resident Josh Hampton.

"I was really surprised to hear from him. I knew he was doing this thing so I thought something was really wrong," Josh said. "But it was a simple fix. Then I bought him a catfish plate from The Farm Boy and made him take my picture."

This is Nate's first adventure like this, so he decided to stay inside the Kentucky state lines and limit his time on the road to one week.  5 days in, Nate is already aspiring to take his adventures outside the comforts of the Bluegrass State.

"I really wanted to test the waters this first time out so I decided, in the interest of safety, I'll keep it fairly close to home just to see if i can survive," he said. "So far, so good. I've met lots of great people."
