Butler County Track and Field traveled to WKU on Saturday, May 7th to compete in the Warren East Raider Run. “Teams from all over the area come to come to this event, and it is great competition to push our athletes.” Said Coach Fuller. Athletes from Apollo, Bowling Green, Butler County, Franklin-Simpson, Greenwood, Hendersonville High School, Logan County, Monroe County, Portland High School, South Warren, Warren Central, Warren East, and White House High School made the journey to compete in Saturday’s event.

Junior Hannah Perry brought home two medals Saturday. One for being a part of the 4X800M  relay team that finished 3rd, and the other for a 2nd place finish in the open 800 meter run. “I’m proud of the relay team’s performance, we didn’t let the heat get to us and we really pushed ourselves, getting our best time to date.” Explained Perry. “I was happy with my 800 as well, considering heat played a factor. I feel like we are in a good place going into regionals week, and I am beyond excited to see what we can achieve at the regional meet next Saturday.” Added Perry.

Butler County travels to Muhlenburg County next Saturday, May 14th to compete in Regionals, and looks to complete the season at the State Competition on May 27th in Lexington.
