PBI Bank installs ATM

In an effort to provide its clients with 24 hour banking services, PBI Bank recently installed an automated teller machine, or ATM, at its Morgantown location on G.L. Smith Street. The brand-new ATM is state-of-the-art and features functions to accommodate all clients including those with visual or hearing impairments. The ATM has Braille, it can verbalize directions for the visually impaired; it also has a headphone jack for those who are hearing impaired.

PBI Bank Community President Jarod Amos said, "We're glad to have the new ATM; it's much needed. The local technicians who helped get this ATM up and running did an excellent job. Our one goal was to get the ATM up and live by the Catfish Festival and that happened. "

Amos continued, "ATMs are the best and worst thing to happen because we lose that personal contact with the customer. But, some people like losing that contact because it can be faster. There are both benefits and drawbacks to having the new ATM just like anything else that you have in life."

Branch manager Jennifer Hammer says that the machine has been highly used by customers during its first weeks.

"I think it's great for the community," she said, "For those people who like the convenience of the ATM, it's great, but for those who love that one-one-one, we have great, friendly employees here that our customers love."

PBI Bank customers have access to over 43,000 ATMs worldwide due to the banks affiliation with the Allpoint Network. PBI customers do not have to pay a surcharge to use any Allpoint Network ATM as they would if they used an ATM that is not owned by the bank. There are two Allpoint Network ATMs in Morgantown that PBI customers can use; one is located inside Carolyn's Market on KY 70 West (Rochester Rd) and the other is at Jumpin' Jacks on US 231 South.

In addition to the newly-installed ATM, PBI Bank also recently launched their online banking services. For more information about PBI Bank or the services they provide, visit www.pbibank.com, call 526-3855, or visit them at 112 West G.L. Smith Street.
