Patty Craig : A Slice of Time
February is a month that provides me with indoor time. I have to find some entertainment. I’ve spent lots of time reading novels, looking through magazines, and working Sudoku puzzles. I think many people find ways to entertain themselves during cold weather.
My friends and family agreed with me: they entertain themselves during the cold weather months, too. Their chosen activities include the following:
-By watching Netflix and snuggling with my pup!
-Napping.
-I read a book!
-I hang out with friends and family.
-I love to work puzzles in the winter, but don’t do it in the summer. Also, I watch more Hallmark movies in the winter.
-Cleaning motorcycles in the garage and small projects now that I have one.
-I read, do art projects, bake and watch movies or … head south.
-I work on photos! Hot, cold, sunny, cloudy, I work on photos.
-I usually lay on the couch reclining and cover up with a warm, cozy, fluffy blanket and watch television. Sometimes I end up sleeping through my shows. A lot of times, I’m eating something that I probably don’t need to be eating.
-Watching TV under my electric blanket throw in my recliner.
-I read more, watch TV Christmas movies, do inside projects that I don’t want to do in the summer.
-In the winter, I like to read and sit by the fireplace. In summer, I’m outdoors gardening or in the kitchen canning until late at night; but in the winter, I enjoy a little rest by the fire.
-I watch TV, movies, hibernate and play on the computer.
-I am a child of the 50’s … I watch TV. And I try to do things inside the house such as painting, etc.
-Hmmm…. Playdoh and books! I love puzzles and certainly books, but probably a lot of Netflix and baking happens, too.
-Reading or writing a good story, working on projects, or visiting family and friends.
-Watch TV.
-Hunt!
-I watch a lot of Netflix and Hulu, which I don’t do in warmer weather. We play cards and board games when we’re at the cabin, which also doesn’t happen when we can be outside in other seasons. As much as I dislike the cold, I think I relax more!
Cold weather activities keep us from being too bored with our confinement. For example, my brother called recently, opening the conversation by asking me what I was doing. I explained that Yankee Candle had sent me a spring catalogue that had rub-and-smell areas for the candle scents, and I was smelling the scents. As we both laughed, I realized that I was entertaining myself. Cold weather can do that to a person.
