Pack 208 Volunteering Their Time

Members of the local cub scout pack, Pack 208 spent their extra hour of sunshine on Sunday at the John Prine Memorial Park picking up trash. With the recent flooding affecting our area, the pack took the opportunity of beautiful weather to complete a service project for a local community.

Pack members donned gloves and were able to collect 5 large bags of trash, a discarded lawn chair and even a broken bucket from the area surrounding the park. Pack members took the opportunity to clear some brush away from the benches in order to allow a clear path for community members to enjoy the gorgeous view of the Green River.

Cub Scout leaders use the park clean up as a chance to reinforce the values and aspects of the cub scout law that the scouts have been learning during den meetings. Values that include honesty, courtesy, helpfulness and cleanliness.

Pack 208 meets every other Monday at Crossland Community Church in Morgantown. Anyone interested in learning more about Morgantown's Cub Scout Pack 208, which includes children grades K-5, please contact Darla Henry at 2703924442 or via the Pack's facebook page.
