ORCA shuts down for 10 days due to Covid case

A private school in Butler County has decided to cancel classes for ten days due to one confirmed case of Covid-19.  According to Principal Adam Kirby, Oak Ridge Christian Academy has one case of Covid-19 associated with the school.  Due to privacy concerns, he did not identify the individual or whether or not he/she was a student or staff member.  

“This was the first one (Covid-19 case) that we’ve had all year,” said Kirby.  “We have voluntarily shut down for ten days for cleaning and are allowing the building to set empty a few days after cleaning.”  

Kirby said via a Facebook post that he hoped that by following "our standards that we can eliminate any further exposure."

"Please know that as of now the one with a positive case is doing well with minimum symptoms and we hope and pray for the safety of others," said Kirby. "Thank you all for the calls and prayers of concernment."

Oak Ridge Christian Academy, located at 2696 Oak Ridge Road, serves approximately 73 students in elementary through high school age. The school was founded in 1985 by Oak Ridge Baptist Church.  The stated vision of the school is to provide quality education with a Biblical foundation.
