OPEN FOR BUSINESS: Morgantown City Pool back at it following Covid closure in 2020

Although the Morgantown City Pool was unavailable last year, they have opened back up and are in full swing for the summer of 2021.

May 31st was the opening day for the city pool.  The pool’s operation hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.  There will also be Wednesday night swims from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  According to pool manager, Andy Fuller, “The turnout has been great this summer, especially on the weekends and Wednesday night swims.”

Admission prices during the day are $4.00 for adults 16 years or older, $2.00 for children 15 years or younger, $1.00 for adults not swimming, and free for toddlers 2 years or under.  Night swims admission is half price of the day admission prices.  Adults 16 years or older is $2.00, children 15 years or younger is $1.00, and toddlers 2 years or under are still free.  Another option for admission is to buy a pool pass.  Pool passes are good for the entire summer, and you can purchase a single pass for $50.00 or family of 5 pool pass for $100.00.

Pool parties with friends are always fun in the summer and parties can be scheduled at the city pool.

“Pool parties have been a hit and I think we are booked every weekend for the rest of the summer,” said Fuller.

To add to the fun of spending time at the pool, there will be three "Movie Dive-Ins" taking place through the summer.  Families can join the fun at the pool and watch movies while swimming.  These Movie Dive Ins are free admission for everyone.  The first movie showing is o June 30th with Tom and Jerry: The Movie.  Then in July you can see Raya and the Last Dragon on the 14th and The Croods: A New Age on the 28th.

The Morgantown City Pool management and lifeguards put in an abundance of work for all families of Butler County to have a safe, fun, and memorable summer together.
