One27 Main opens as music venue; music lessons also offered

As the seasons change and the world around us evolves, so do the buildings in our town that define our community. The newest edition, appropriately named, is One27 Main. This building space was originally a bank, has been multiple restaurants, a consignment shop, boutique, and is now a venue for music lovers. While a small space, keep in mind that some of the best music and musicians have come from small venues, Tidball's and the front porch of the general store in Rosine, to name a couple.

One27 Main was the brainchild of Jacob Kline and Jordan Evans. Initially, the space would be their own "selfish dream," as Jacob put it. They wanted it as a place for jam sessions and to house their musical interests. However, as they brainstormed and researched, they decided to create a musical venue for all tastes and ages. While interviewing the duo, they acknowledged the need for a place for the youth of our community to have as an artistic outlet. Music will not be the only performance patrons can enjoy. There will be comedians, musical acts, and storytelling. The establishment will also be available to rent for parties and receptions.

While fundraising for tornado victims, they have had a couple of amazing acts perform as far away as Philadelphia, with more slated to arrive in the upcoming months. While small, the venue has been packed to the gills, with a broad spectrum of ages performing and enjoying the musical talents on stage.

Now for my favorite part! While artists will be scheduled to perform on the weekends, One27 Main will be offering group music lessons for ages five and up throughout the weekdays. Together, Jordan and Jacob will nourish a whole new set of artists to continue performing for the future generations of our county. In addition, lessons will be offered in piano, band instruments, guitar, and beginning vocals. As a parent, I am excited to choose for my children without traveling to another county.
