One-Time Opportunity To View Eggner's Ferry Bridge Collapse

Cranes stand ready to help.

Butler Countians along with others were invited to a one-time opportunity to view the damage to the Eggner’s ferry (Hwy 68-80) bridge across Kentucky Lake Saturday from 9 AM till 1 PM. The structure had been struck by a commercial ship during the night of January 26.

A public information sheet given to visitors states, “ For public safety in the future, the entire area west on US 68/ Ky 80 past Woodlands Trace including the Fenton Camping Area and Boat Launch will be completely closed to all vehicle, boat and pedestrian traffic." Updates concerning Land Between the Lakes areas still open are available at www.lbl.org.
