New Assistant Principals

Adam Gish

Two Butler County schools started the school year with new administrators. Butler County High School welcomed Adam Gish as their new assistant principal, and former Butler County Middle School teacher, Cody Donaldson, transitioned to assistant principal at the middle school.

Superintendent Scott Howard commented, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Gish and Mr. Donaldson into their new positions with the Butler County School System.  It is obvious that they share our vision of building relationships and making a difference in order to move our school district to the next level.  I look forward to the gifts and talents that each of them will bring to their position.”

Adam Gish, a graduate of Muhlenberg County High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Kentucky Wesleyan, a Master’s Degree from Campbellsville University, and a rank one degree from The University of the Cumberlands. He has taught special education for the last 13 years. As assistant principal, some of his day-to-day responsibilities are enforcing the school discipline policy, chairing special education meetings, school safety, and implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports).  According to Gish, his experience so far at the high school has been great.  “The students are awesome, and the faculty has really welcomed my arrival.” Mr. Gish stated that he is extremely grateful for this opportunity and said parents can call or email him anytime during the school day. Principal Michael Gruber said, “Mr. Gish is doing a fantastic job.  Although he is new to our district, he is working hard to get to know everyone.  He has taken the lead in several different areas, one of which is our positive behavior intervention program.  I am very happy to work alongside him.”

Cody, daughter Piper, and wife Meagan

Cody Donaldson, a graduate of Greenwood High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University.  He earned a master’s degree from the University of the Cumberlands, and is currently working on a rank one degree from Western. In his five years of teaching, he taught social studies and language arts. Some of his daily responsibilities are 7th and 8th grade discipline, truancy diversion, school safety, building maintenance, chairing special education meetings, and evaluating teachers.  Mr. Donaldson said that parents can contact him anytime during the day at school, and if he isn’t available, he will get back to the parent that day.  Butler County Middle School Principal Tim Freeman said, “BCMS is excited to add Mr. Donaldson to the administration.  He brings a great work ethic, high energy, has always been an advocate for teachers, and is always looking to improve student achievement.”

Both Mr. Gish and Mr. Donaldson are excited to work with parents and the community to ensure the best possible education for Butler County students.
