The Lord’s Prayer, led by Elder, Ruth Cowan

Begun by an act of Congress back in 1952, each succeeding President was to set aside and proclaim a suitable day each year, other than a Sunday, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at Churches, in groups and as individuals. Harry S. Truman was President.

Congress, in 1988, specified that the date set aside would be the first Thursday of May each year. That was signed by President Ronald Reagan.
