  Moses Taylor cabin in Warren County, KY, was still standing in the early 2000s.

Moses Bullard Taylor, Sr. served during the American Revolution by paying for supplies for the military. His Patriotic Service was done in North Carolina according to the North Carolina Revolutionary Account books. He had seven sons and five daughters. Some of his family members also served during the revolution. After the war the Taylors, Daughertys and Beasleys were among the many who made their way to Kentucky by passing through the Cumberland Gap, to take possession of land grants. His family settled along the Gasper River in Warren County, then many moved on to Butler County or other northern locations.

Moses B. Taylor, my 6th great grandfather was born about 1730 in Virginia and died March 4, 1817, in Warren County, KY near the Gasper River. His burial location is unknown as flooding washed the tombstones in the family cemetery away at one point in history. He married Elizabeth Prevatte (1743-1833) in Craven County, North Carolina about 1761.They had a son, Joseph Prevatte Taylor, my 5th great grandfather born in April 1765 in Craven County, NC and died on January 25, 1853, in Beaver Dam, Ohio County, KY. He married Mary Slade (1766-1840) on August 7, 1785, in Craven County, NC. Joseph and Mary had a daughter, Elizabeth Prevatte (Polly) Taylor, my 4th great grandmother on January 26, 1787, in KY who died on July 21, 1886, in Butler County, KY. She married Thomas Alfred Taylor (1778-1834} in Kentucky. Elizabeth and Thomas had a son, Calvin Prevatte Taylor, my 3rd great grandfather, on October 13, 1834, in Welches Creek, Butler County. He died on July 21, 1886, in Butler County, KY. Calvin married Dorcas Beasley (1809-1855) on September 28, 1833, in Butler County, KY. They had a son Joseph Taylor, my 2nd great grandfather, on September 1, 1846, in Butler County who died on January 24, 1923, in Butler County. Joseph married Mary Catherine Beasley (1850-1897) on August 2, 1867, in Butler County. Joseph and Mary had a son, Calvin Taylor, my great grandfather on December 7, 1875, in KY, who died on August 16, 1964, in Owensboro, Daviess County, KY. Calvin married Dora Taylor (1875-1959) in 1896 in Butler County. Calvin and Dora had a son, Eugene Taylor, my grandfather on November 24, 1901, in Butler County, who died on January 14, 2000, in Morgantown, Butler County, KY. Eugene married Lillie Jeames Taylor (1905-1989) on June 29, 1922, in Butler County. They had a daughter, Iva Taylor, my mother on September 22, 1924, in Butler County who died on March 4, 1980, in Fayette County, KY. She married Ralph Meador (1928-2014) on November 30, 1946, in Ohio County, KY.
