Murder Suspect Being Sought in Butler County Double Murder Arrested

 Charles W. "Cotton" Lindsey

Bowling Green, KY (November 20, 2016)-  Thirty-three year old Charles W. "Cotton" Lindsey, who was being sought for the Murders of two people that were discovered in a burnt vehicle in rural Butler County on November 9, 2016, was located today by Officers with the Bowling Green Police Department in the limits of Bowling Green where he was taken into custody without incident and then relinquished to Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green.
Lindsey has been arrested and lodged in the Butler County Jail on a warrant where he was charged with Murder.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Detective Graham Rutherford.  No other details are available for release at this time.

Two Arrested in Butler County Double Murder, One Being Sought


KY (November 18, 2016)-  Today at approx. 3:47 pm the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green Detectives arrested two people in connection to the double Murder that occurred in Butler County on November 9, 2016 where two bodies were discovered in a burnt vehicle on Region-Reedyville Road.

Arlexis Kawai (22) of Bowling Green and Helen Rone (21) of Roundhill were arrested and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail where they were both charged with Complicity to Murder.

A warrant for Murder has been obtained in connection to this investigation for 33 year old Charles W. "Cotton" Lindsey of Roundhill.  Lindsey is 6'00" tall, approx. 200 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair (see attached photo).  Anyone with information to the whereabouts of Mr. Lindsey or that may have any further information in reference to this case is asked to contact KSP Post 3 Bowling Green at (270)782-2010.  Mr. Lindsey is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Detective Graham Rutherford.  No other information is available for release at this time.

11/15/16 UPDATE:

Roundhill, KY (November 15, 2016)- Due to information received from the autopsy that was performed in this case, the investigation is being conducted as a Murder.  No other information is available for release at this time.

KSP UPDATE:  The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was requested by Butler County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a vehicle fire last night at approx. 5:09 pm in the 700 block of Region-Reedyville Road where it was discovered that there were two deceased bodies inside.

Neither body has been identified nor has the manner of death been determined at this time and there will be an autopsy performed today at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Detectives of KSP Post 3 Bowling Green.  Anyone that may have any information in reference to this incident please call KSP Post 3 at (270)782-2010.

ORIGINAL BTN STORY:  Around 4:40 pm local fire departments were dispatched to Region Reedyville Road in Butler County for a vehicle and possible field fire.  Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle fully engulfed.  After extingushing the fire, two bodies were discovered inside the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and the bodies taken to Madisonville for autopsies.
Responding to the scene were: Fourth District, Fifth District, Brownsville, Bear Creek, Kyrock, and Chalybeate  Fire Departments, Butler County Sheriff's Department, Morgantown Police Department, and the Butler County Coroner.
Kentucky State Police is conducting the on-going investigation.
