Multiple units respond to house fire on Martin Wilson Road

185 Martin Wilson Road was the location of a house fire earlier tonight as multiple volunteer firemen converged on the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. The white frame house, located off Veteto Lane/KY 79 North, is owned by Melvin and Sandy Ralph. Firemen with the Fifth, Fourth, and Morgantown departments were all on the scene, as well as Butler County EMS. Employees with WarrenRECC were also present working to cut power to the house. Multiple firemen immediately began battling heavy smoke coming from house in an effort to prevent the residence from being engulfed in flames. Firemen were successful in keeping the house from being consumed by the fire. Melvin Ralph and daughter Kelly Ralph were home at the time but both were able to get out of the house without injury. Mr. Ralph suspects the fire may have started from the chimney.

I think many of your readers would be interested to know that this house was built by Melvin's great-grandparents who were murdered there in 1951. The house has a most interesting past.Just FYI, in case anyone wanted to create an interesting follow up.
Dear Ralph, How can I help? your classmate Janeen taylor
Melvin and Sandy are my aunt and uncle and I can assure you, the whole family is devestayed. It was a beautiful house and they've lived there my whole life. (I'm 17). They also just added some new renevations such as the bathroom. It's such a horrible loss.
I know Melvin,Sandy and Kelly. They are good people and my family love Kelly (who is my son Jordon's girlfriend) like she is one of our own children! I hate it that they have to deal with this, and the support from the community will help tremendously!!
